Just came back from a 2D1N camp at moe dairy farm from saturday to sunday: SyMBIOSIS 2011. It's organised by the YP school for young pap(YP) and young ntuc(YN). i enjoyed myself, didn regret not giving up the opportunity. have to thank budi and ralph i guess. :)

honestly speaking, just the night before the camp, i was quite reluctant go for it cuz its over the weekend and it would mean less free time and homework time. and i was unwilling to do the high elements since it was an adventure camp. but luckily im not alone cuz jonathan, zitian, weekuang and steven were going too. =) at least there was company be whether we're in the same group or not. hahah. im also quite thankful that im not the youngest and honestly age doesnt really matter. :)

reach there on first day and as usual sat with the ndp group for breakfast that was provided. was looking ard for girls who are ard my age but it doesn look like there were any. while waiting for the camp to start, abner dropped by campsite cuz he's one of the YP exco. got to talk to him but not much thought.. we only found out who's out groupmates right before the icebreakers. weekuang, zitian and i were in the same group: 4. there were many other ppl too. :) there was a boy at the age of 18 called augustine. he kinda got along with us after icebreaking cuz he would hang ard with weekuang. (and he believed jon when jon said he was 38 years old and had done plastic surgery! super funny!) haha im not the youngest! im getting old... X) there were a few females in the group too, mostly from yp.

after icebreakers, it was time for sharing and learning session with martin from yp and mp alex yam from yn. learnt about history of ntuc and pap and their values and mission. interesting time. its smth new i learnt. :) then its time for lunch and later, high elements(OMG). at the high elements, it was time for rock climbing. i told myself, it was time i attempt to overcome my fears. do my best! and yes, i climbed the wall up to about half its height and i told myself, im good and ready to get down. and i'm happy and proud of myself that i did it. :) as least i made an effort to try cuz i didn do it when i was in jc or sec sch.. then it was the ropes courses. well for that, i only did the 1 of the course which is walking on the tight rope from one end to another. i could feel my body trembling when i was up there. but similarly, i did my best and i was happy i made an effort to overcome my fear of heights. :) then we also had team building games with slight trustfall and also spiderweb. well, i pulled out of the spiderweb game cuz it was really smth out of my comfort zone and im not ready to say yes to this game. so yupp, i backed out. and thru this game, we somehow became known as team/group TITANS. hahaha. there was also sunny side up game about tossing a ball with ground sheet and catching them as a team. interesting but it kinda made me realised how important is communication and agreeing on wad we wanna do.

finally it was dinnertime, HUNGRY! hahah! yupp then we had our meals tgt as a group before moving the benches out for a campfire and sharing session with mp alex yam and advisor to gro(hougang) desmond choo. had a insightful time listening to their talk and experiences. and i realised, i'm not political enough/at all! =X its time to learn i guess. to learn to agree to disagree sometimes. and learning about accepting differences. had a mini night hike to the singapore quarry. really nice and scenic place in the day i guess? cuz we went at night, there was nth to see except the sky with few stars. nice to have a walk and not think about anything. :) when we came back from the quarry, there was supper and time for lights out. many were thinking of going out to have supper. initially i wanted to do. but then i changed my mind cuz i didn wanna shower alone in the toilet and also cuz i was tired. =X yupp so i went to sleep instead! had a pretty good sleep despite the hard ground. woke up even without the alarm! :)

freshened up and went for breakfast! sat with the girls and weekuang said i jump camp. and i said i'll be back! hahah oops! must spend time with girls also mahh. yummy porridge for breakfast. =D

then it was time for some sharing from camp commandant, friends and new friends that just joined us. we're supposed to sit in our groups and at the group 4 table, there was this guy in red. new group mate. during the sharing he introduced himself, he's called zhen yao studying in smu. and kexin from yp exco was there too and she came over to talk to zhen yao cuz she was an alumni of smu. well i was sitting opposite them so during the break i kinda joined in there conversation.. yup, that's how we started talking. i know kexin from GE times but didn get to talk to her cuz i was stuck at the branch most of the time. after the break that was a short game. it was funny cuz the group was split into 2 and each side needed a girl and each side was pulling me over. then in the end weekuang's and zhenyao's side decided to sacrifice themselves so that the whole group wouldn't lose. well in the end, we decided one for all and all for one and we all did the chicken dance. haha. there was some fun times like one of the YN doing the split!! OMG!! zhen yao and i were kinda laughing at some jokes tgt cuz we felt more comfortable with each other, i guess. i think he's kinda the first friend besides zitian and weekuang in the grp to make me feel pretty comfortable. haha. :)

it was time for group discussions, on 2 points - a better life for and a new political environment. everyone got to share their experiences and opinions. :) we came up with a skit to act out for mg chan and mp teo ser luck. yupp we overran on our time for discussion and had a late lunch. haha. but at least we're all as a group. :) then after lunch, we had free time waiting outside salvation army before being able to use their facilities. we then use some of the time for chit chatting before we move on to further discussion for our skit. after deciding on the plots and stuff, we moved on to breaking up in smaller groups for our different scenes. haha zhen yao ask me to join him so i did. haha. it was so much laughter tgt with colin, lina and zhiwei(i hope i spelled correctly. XD) we ended up relating to the chicken dance we did in the morning. hahaha. wad a joke! during the rehearsal of the skit, i just couldnt stop laughing! haha.

it was then time for the dialogue and presentation to the guests-of-honour. it was a delightful and insightful time throughout the groups presentation as well as when mg chan was sharing with us about the how the party works and wad's policies and politics. i learnt smth new again. :) soon, it was over. and time for a group photo before the camp was broken. :) then yp had to collect our certs and badges after filling up the evaluation form. :) and finally, TITANS group photo before we left! =D (during the chit chat session, zhen yao and i had some funny moments tgt. laughing at each other for evesdropping on others convo! we just looked at each other and laughed. and thought that it was bad of us! cont'd below)

sooo fast, its like my 301th post on this blog alr. wow. enjoyed mps ytd!! :D:D

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JARVIS (BESTFRIEND) and YENNY! Hope u have a great bday with many happy returns!

this month of october's been good and bad to me. good cuz god gave me back my good friend. we're talking again and i want to keep it that way. im very contented with it alr. there are downs this month too, firstly was the unexpected sms but nuzul has advised me about it and i think its all good now. secondly, ios5 decided to not restore my smses from my inbox. boohoo! :(

today's good! i paid full attention in 1131 lecture today. proud of myself! :D got to go home with cally after a very very long time! haha we got to talk about alot of things and discuss about my plan of getting ipad 2 or iphone 4s. haha im swaying towards ipad 2. shld i or shld i not?! heehee

got to chat with renda and weijie, talking about random stuff and catch up. smiling a lot. that's a good thing right? smiling smiling all the way! continue to stay positive jess!

went out for dinner at astons changi airport with zitian, jonathan, weekuang, steven and supposedly raymond but then he had to do OT so he couldn't make it in the end. well, overall the dinner was fun with jokes and stories and giving of belated birthday cards to weekuang and jonathan.. :) its a good day cuz i get to go grandma house. :D

had bio lab today, we had to study the skulls of chimpanzees and homosapiens and then a few other skulls. initially i was hesitant about touching the skulls although most of them are casts. but in the end, i still picked it up and examine it. it wasn that scary afterall. the highlight was that dr zee actually started the discussion and experiment with us. she's really cool and clear in wad she explains. she totally got my attention and i was focused throughout. best lab session ever. :)

then after 1111 lect, i had lunch and then went to the library alone cuz i had to go nuh for cabin session at 330. when i'm on my way to nuh, i bumped into sarah. was talking to her about the things i have today. then she said i brought it on myself. i was a lil pissed though cuz its just coincindence that everything is going on today. but the things i do are things im interested in. so i didn have regrets, i was just ranting a lil. but wadever, i think as long as i'm happy its okay.

during the cabin, its quite fun. we get to do pegs again but this time i remember to bring the macaroni. :) the kids are cool today too. get to play games and talk to them. :)

lunch with hongye, yixia, weijian, changtat, marcus, kimyong, joel, jansen at MOF bugis. the food's nice. had fun catching up with them cuz we got to talk about both uni life and army life. its happy to see familiar faces. makes one feel very comfortable again. then after taking polariods, its time to go tamp for guitar. im starting to really enjoy guitar lessons cuz im learning new things. i want to succeed one day. like jeff said, gan dong dao zi ji. :)

finally a chance to meet up with jarvis and kaisiang. i think im thankful that we all are friends can we can meet up easily cuz kaisiang's the kind that would rather go out in small group and jarvis' the kind that insist on company. so yupp, we met at downtown east for lunch cuz i need to attend an inter GRO tournament at the bowling alley there. hahah. gave them their birthday cards in advance cuz i dunno when will be the nx time i'll see them. haha. after lunch, kaisiang treat bubble tea! thanks kaisiang! then they say they walk me to the bowling alley. haha i did know that rahul was walking along with us! haha he invited them to bowl too cuz he said they were short of bowlers. haha im thankful they were good sport and agreed. :) im happy that they were there to keep me company and bowl tgt too.. haha managed to hit quite a number of strikes altgt! haha uber cool. :) time flies though. very soon the games ended and it was time to go. there was a tinge of not wanting to leave.. its been a really long time since i had so much fun. thanks for everything JARVIS & KAISIANG! :) (when i met jarvis at white sands and we're walking to dte, he said izzit cuz we too long very meet or nv talk, i talk more si wen alr or izzit cuz he was talking too much. it just put a smile on my face. i missed us)

Congrats SELENA JIE AND OON HOW KOR on ur newborn princess! (: she's such a dear!

last night ard 12am.. received a msg from someone. contents of the message totally freaked me out. smth i wasn't totally prepared for. smth that i hope WOULD NOT happen. didn have a good sleep as a result too. :/ omg. i dunno what to do.

the cabin today was lovely. had a lot of joy hanging up the pegs and notes and interacting with the patients. :) they are adorable kids. spent some time with this girl. she's a few years older but she doesn look like one. didn ask her any sensitive issues so i dunno much about her. but i started thinking how tough it was for their parents. living life with so much worries, sorrows that not many ppl would know. how much can ppl like us do to help them? i think its really very very little. :(

guitar instructor, jeff, gave me an assignment for this week. im only a quarter done. wad does that mean?! Shucks, im screwed! =X

hmm, okiie mid terms are over, i hope i did well enough. :) well this weekend was cool. haha busy day on 1st oct (btw,happy birthday bobby!) with YA stuff and then going for tampines north's yp bbq. haha cool. its nice be to out with jonathan, zitian, weekuang, raymond & steven found out that we're all attending the same camp soon. yes! im not alone. mr baey's really cool when he talked to us during the bbq. he's really friendly and nice. (: had a long day until 2plus 3am. cuz they went drinking at pasir park de club/pub. i didn drink but we all did play a number of rounds of saboteur. kinda miss playing them with jar, linus, zeeq, weiren and the rest during bbq/chalet times! =D

then on sunday, we went vienna @ novena square to eat buffet. a way to celebrate my dad's birthday in advance! yum yum! :D slacked the day away. XD

monday, 3rd oct. its mps day! :D heard some bad news (its all good now,phew!) lucky wj's is okiie. yupp, mps is pretty usual. got to drive the car and send bernard kor home. :) haha

tuesday, 4th oct. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD! LOVE YOU! Happy Birthday Oliver too! :D Stay Healthy! got to celebrate my dad's bday once the clock strike 12. haha.

wednesday, 5th oct. DRAMA. GUITAR LESSON. NERDS DINNER. watching hk drama almost the whole noon. haha some time spent for guitar practicing and lesson. GOT TO PLAY A UKELELE during today's lesson! omg its so nice and cute. super fragile cuz its light! but it produces a really nice sound/music! :D nerd dinner was fun! din tai fung, bday cake, h&m, neoprint, scape(sarah and her gong cha joke!) and loads of photos! thank you bobby for the treat! u rock! XP i think this is the first time i randomly talk to russell. haha. nice and crazy senior/ogl! :) i had a fun tonight. i hope the rest too. :) nights y'all!
